Lazio shows its muscles and drops its hat trick: Inter knocked out
At the Olimpico, it ends 3-1 for Lazio
Lazio beat Inter Milan 3-1 in Friday night’s match at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome and, in addition to forcing the Nerazzurri to their first defeat of the season, overtook them in the standings, earning momentary first place.
After initial skirmishes, the Biancocelesti gained ground minute by minute and legitimized their lead with Felipe Anderson’s winning finish in the 40th minute, going ahead by one goal at halftime.
Back from the long break, however, the Nerazzurri accelerated and took just over five minutes to equalize: signing the 1-1 goal was Lautaro Martinez, but the Nerazzurri only gave the illusion that they could take the match into their own hands.
In fact, Sarri’s winning move came in the 57th minute, when Luis Alberto and Pedro replaced Vecino and Zaccagni: the two Spaniards, in fact, were the men of providence, with the fantasist author of a splendid goal (on which there is also a slight deflection that deceives Handanovic) and the former Barcelona and Roma man closing the accounts in the final.
So it ends 3-1: Lazio proves in a direct clash with a big one that it wants to play every chance it has to be at the top of the championship.
