MotoGP Silverstone: Marc Marquez again makes people discuss
Team Ducati Gresini rider Marc Marquez struggled to qualify in Q2 of the MotoGP British Grand Prix qualifying session at Silverstone: the eight-time world champion had to exploit the wake of the fastest riders, as he already did at Honda. Marquez è thus put himself è behind Jorge Martin, and è managed to pull it off by a few thousandths: "This è the è the only good thing, because perhaps è it was one of the worst Fridays".
"Other times I was out of Q1, but I had a good feeling with the bike. Today from the first lap of FP1 I was going backwards and struggling with the bike. We fought back and narrowly saved ourselves, but for Saturday we have a lot of work ahead".
Marquez was controversial for taking the slipstream to Jorge Martin: "I think it is one of the first slipstreams I take this year’s. So far I have always gone alone, trying to do my best, but today I had a difficult day. So, è allowed to make a living. I came out of the box with Aleix, but he didn’t want to pull and neither did I. Martin caught up with us, so I followed the fastest and he helped me a bit’. But he was going too fast, at the end of the lap I already had no more slipstream".
Jorge Martin did not want to fuel controversy, but he did not hide a bit of annoyance: "It's clear that you would rather be alone. But I can’t control who follows me, so I pushed and I still put myself in the lead. That gives me additional confidence. Obviously, if you are fast you don't want to give him the wheel, because he cané overtake you and even get you out of Q2 in some cases", are the words reported by motosan.
