Max Verstappen, black Friday: ‘We have no grip’
A day to forget
Max Verstappen in Singapore experienced a nightmarish Friday, which began with an FIA sanction for inappropriate language in the press conference the day before and ended with the 15th time in the second free practice session. A signal that certainly did not leave the Red Bull champion indifferent, ahead of a weekend that could prove even more difficult than the last, already largely disappointing ones.
"This day è was really very complicated for us,” Verstappen admitted.
The car was sliding a lot, we had no grip. However, the problem was not due to the curbs and bumps of the Singapore track. In general, my Red Bull’s tire grip was not working".
"Especially in FP2 we had to deal with this problem. Now we will analyze the data, we have to see if we can do something to improve the performance of the tires and in general of the car. We need to improve, to face qualifying with more hope", added Verstappen.
The goal, not an easy one, è is to close the gap of just under 1.3 seconds remedied by Lando Norris’ McLaren on Friday in Singapore. And the Ferraris of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz also proved, at least on the first day on the track, to be superior to a Red Bull in great difficulty.
