The Nba è mourning the death of Dikembe Mutombo, one of the greatest defenders and especially stoppers ever. The former center at 58 lost his battle with a brain tumor, diagnosed two years ago now.
L'former Denver, Atlanta, Philadelphia, New Jersey Nets, New York Knicks and Houston Rockets will remain in history for the "no" gesture with his finger after each stoppage, accompanied by the phrase "not in my house", "not in my house".
Mutombo ended his 20-year career as the second best all-time NBA stopper behind only Hakeem Olajuwon, and ahead of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, at 3289, averaging 2.75 per game. He won the Nba best defender award four times (1995, 1997, 1998, 2001), as did Ben Wallace and Rudy Gobert.
