Lorenzo Sonego-Casper Ruud 3-6 6-7

After Matteo Berrettini, who was defeated by surprise by Swiss Dominic Stricker, world number 317, Lorenzo Sonego was also eliminated in the round of 16 at the Stockholm ATP 250. The Piedmontese player, in fact, è surrendered in two sets (3-6 6-7) to Casper Ruud, the second seed in the draw, after an hour and three quarters of play.

Sonego got off to a bad start and gave up the serve in the second game.Ruud confirmed the lead and went up 3-0 in a flash. The bad start cost the blue dearly: the Norwegian kept the break lead until the final 6-3 with which he made the first partial his.

In the second set Sonego rises in level and puts up more resistance. The Piedmontese, however, fails to impeach Ruud on serve and so it comes to the tie-break: the balance holds until 3-3, then the Norwegian places a partial 4-0 with which he closes the accounts.

With the exit of Berrettini and Sonego, there is no longer any blue remaining on the scoreboard at the 'BNP Paribas Nordic Open'.
