Ciccio Caputo wants to return to play
After six consecutive seasons in Serie A, during which he wore the jerseys of Sassuolo, Sampdoria and Empoli, Francesco "Ciccio" Caputo è is looking for a new experience: the 1987-born striker, who was released from his contract last Aug. 26, is eager to get back in the game and return to scoring goals as soon as possible.
"I have scored a lot of goals in my career, now I am waiting to see how it will go since I am still unemployed. But I still have a great desire to make more" said the Altamura-born footballer, who made his debut back in 2005 with the Toritto jersey before a gradual climb that, over the years, would take him to Serie A.
Caputo, in his career, has also worn the jerseys of Altamura, Noicattaro, Bari, Salernitana, Siena and Virtus Entella. He has won two Serie B championships, with Bari in 2008/2009 and with Empoli in 2017/2018, a year in which he also topped the cadetteria’s top scorer list with 26 goals to his credit.
His achievements also include two appearances with the national team, both dating back to 2020: on Oct. 7, in Florence, he also scored a goal (starting) in the 6-0 win against Moldova, while four days later in Gdansk è subbing in at minute 83 of Poland-Italy 0-0, valid for the Uefa Nations League.
