Roma, Daniele De Rossi sibylline on rumors of return to the bench
Daniele De Rossi breaks silence
Among the many candidates for the Roma bench to take the place of the exonerated Ivan Juric, there is also the name of the person who had been replaced by the Croatian, Daniele De Rossi. Speaking at the ceremony dedicated to the awards of the Hall of Fame of Italian soccer (where è he was honored for his career as a player) the former midfielder also broke the silence on the hypothesis regarding the return to the Giallorossi bench.
"I have never said that I would no longer return to Trigoria – said the 2006 world champion to RAI microphones – There are dynamics that are part of the game, both as a footballer and as a coach, in this second case the exoneration is part of the job. I però am at home" in Trigoria.
" I spent more time in Trigoria and Coverciano than at home,” De Rossi continued, “And as I returned to Coverciano I will return to Trigoria". Whether as Roma coach or as a simple guest, however, is unknown and it will be necessary to wait for the moves of the club to understand who will be at the helm of the club after the break for the national team activities.
De Rossi had been appointed Roma coach on Jan. 16, 2024, in place of the exonerated José Mourinho: with the Giallorossi he finished the season in sixth place, qualifying for the Europa League (a competition in which, by the way, he reached the semifinals in the spring of 2024). Confirmed initially until 2027, è he was relieved of his post on Sept. 18, after four games without a win to start the 2024/25 championship.
