Great controversy in Superbike after race 2 of the French round in Magny Cours. Yamaha centaur Toprak Razgatlioglu won the second race ahead of Rinaldi and Bassani, catching up in the overall standings, but what made the headlines was above all the contact between Jonathan Rea and Alvaro Bautista, which cost the Ducati rider and World Championship leader his fall.
After the race Bautista vented, “It’s unbelievable that a world champion would make these maneuvers, this is not a simple error of judgment. He came at me on purpose and that’s why I fell. He can’t do this kind of thing.”
