Lamine Yamal, the future is still blaugrana: comes the'announcement

No surprises, Lamine Yamal remains a Barcelona footballer: the negotiation for the renewal of the previous agreement, which would have expired at the end of next season, has in fact gone through without any difficulties and will see the very young blaugrana talent remain tied to Barça’s colors until June 30, 2031, as disclosed Tuesday evening by the Catalan club itself.
“FC Barcelona and Lamine Yamal have reached a contract renewal agreement, which will now bind the player to the club until June 30, 2031 – the club’s note reads.
The player signed the new contract on Tuesday at the club’s offices, in the presence of president Joan Laporta, vice-president Rafa Yusta and sporting director Anderson Luis de Souza ‘Deco’ among others”.
Product of ‘La Masia’, Barcelona’s proliferating nursery, Lamine Yamal is already, at 17, one of Barcelona’s key players, with whom he won this year’s Spanish Super Cup, King’s Cup and championship, and came close to qualifying for the Champions League final. With the Spanish national team jersey, he won the 2024 European Championship as a star player, scoring in the semifinal against France and playing 89′ of the final against England.
Individually, he has won major international awards such as the Golden Boy award and the Kopa Trophy, while also breaking countless records for earliness, most recently in the Champions League semifinal first leg in which, at 17 years and 291 days old, he emerged as the youngest person to score a goal in the penultimate act of Europe’s top competition.
