Nations League women, Julio Velasco praises Italy's reaction in the third set

The coach of the women’Italy women&#8217s team Julio Velasco thus welcomes the 3-0 win over the United States obtained by his girls on their debut in the Nations League, in Rio de Janeiro: “It&#8220s only one match, but it&#8217s a start with a win and this is always positive”.

“In the first two sets we played well, we put their reception in great difficulty – he explained – and this allowed us to be very effective in wall and defense. The match was one-sided, but before the third I warned that it would be physiological for the opponents to grow. And indeed it happened, but the girls were good at catching up”.

“The changes were important, everyone contributed in a positive way and so we take this success – continued Velasco. Tomorrow we face Germany, a tough team but one that, compared to the friendlies in May, we will face fully. We have a solid game with players who complement each other and so we will have to play our game, knowing that there’s still something to adjust”.
