Sometimes they come back: Brescia announces CJ Massinburg

Ballacanestro Brescia announced that it has reached an agreement with Christian Jalon “CJ” Massinburg, a 196-cm U.S. guard. A talented, winning player and a deep connoisseur of European basketball, CJ Massinburg wore the Bahcesehir (BSL) jersey last season, registering 8.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists per shoe-lace and participating in the Eurocup, when he averaged 7.6 points per game.
A welcome return to the ranks of Germani Brescia, where CJ Massinburg has already played a two-year stint, from 2022 to 2024, making crucial contributions and putting the historic Coppa Italia in Turin 2023, under coach Alessandro Magro, as well as the individual award of Most Improved Player LBA 2024.
Born in Dallas, Texas on April 14, 1997, CJ Massinburg took his first steps in basketball at South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas, a viaticum that led him to Buffalo University (NCAA).
He wears the Buffalo Bulls’ jersey over a four-year period, improving steadily, gradually and increasing his performance. This growth process allows CJ Massinburg to earn major honors, including being on the All MAC first-team for two consecutive years and being named MAC Player of the Year.
Closing his collegiate experience, in 2019, he is not selected in the NBA Draft. However, he is signed by the Brooklyn Nets, but is immediately traded to the Long Island Nets (G-League), playing two convincing seasons and completing his basketball maturation.
He is also a player of the year.
In September 2021, he decided to move to France and accept the offer from Limoges (Betclic Elite), called to replace Gerry Blakes, who was struck down by an injury during the preseason. His impact in the French league convinced the club to extend his contract until the end of the season, posting an average of 14.4 points per game, topped by 4.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists, and contributing to a fourth-place finish in the league standings and qualification for the playoffs.
