Inter, painful market renunciation: social debate

In all likelihood, Inter will have to give up Giovanni Leoni in order to acquire Ademola Lookman, the Nerazzurri’s main market target. The Biscione executives were convinced that they would be able to close both negotiations but the chances are getting less and less.
L’Inter has already presented Atalanta with a 40-million-euro offer for Lookman but the Bergamaschi have declined and made it known that they do not want to deviate from the 50-million request. Despite mediation attempts by the Nigerian striker’s entourage, Percassi seems immovable.
Beppe Marotta is therefore ready to give up Leoni to invest more money on the Lookman’s deal. The’Inter’s idea is to present itself in Bergamo with a new €45 million offer plus bonuses linked to the player’s individual performance and team goals.
The issue has raised a lot of questions.
The issue has raised a fuss on social media: some Nerazzurri fans have emphasized the need to sign a young defender given the age of elements such as Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij, and they consider the purchase of Leoni a priority, while recognizing Lookman’s great qualities. For others, however, a thick graft in the offensive department is more important.
