Friendlies: Torino still knocked out by Monaco, Parma nabs last-place Mallorca

Monaco-Torino and Mallorca-Parma were staged almost simultaneously late Thursday morning, with the granata defeated 3-1 in La Turbie, in the sports center of the club of the Principality, and the ducali able to avoid a knockout in extremis in Neustift im Stubaital, site of the summer retreat of the Gialloblù club, against Mallorca (1-1 the score).
Torino, which had also lost 3-1 in the first of the two friendlies against Monaco played Wednesday afternoon, paid for a first half that ended with the Monegasque side 2-0, the result of goals by Folarin Balogun at 22′ and Kassoum Ouattara at 42′. Casadei shortened the gap early in the second half, but Christian Mawissa closed the score in the 63rd minute.
In contrast, Parma retains its summer unbeaten streak despite still failing to win after a 0-0 draw against Werder Bremen: against Mallorca, the tenth-ranked team in Liga 2024-2025, the Ducals conceded the 0-1 goal in 43′, by Abdon Prats, but at 89’89’ they grabbed the equalizer again thanks to Adrian Benedyczak’s winning kick.

The two Italian teams will continue their preparation over the next few days: Torino, before facing Modena on Aug. 18 in the Italian Cup preliminary round, will play a friendly on the 9th against Valencia, while Parma, which will face the winner of Pescara-Rimini in the national cup, will play Pro Vercelli on Aug. 1 and the Germans of Heidenheim on the 9th.
