Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz: two jokes before getting serious

The last time they saw each other was at the Wimbledon final, won by Jannik Sinner. Then, each in their own way, they pulled the plug. They found themselves on the training grounds of the Cincinnati Masters 1000, ready for a new chapter in their never-ending challenge.

The two chatted, dwelling, in particular, on how they have spent these weeks without tennis (both forfeited the Toronto Masters 1000): “I’ve been two weeks at home and one in southern Spain, I was almost bored. It had been at least a year since I had seen all my friends, you know the ones who do what they want” the Spaniard’s words.

A couple of smiles and then everyone went their separate ways, hoping to meet again on the court, in the final of the Cincinnati Masters 1000. Jannik Sinner defends the title he won last year, Carlos Alcaraz aims to move closer to his rival in the ATP rankings.

How a meeting of a few minutes, during practice, makes so much news confirms how, by now, the rivalry between the two is the beating heart of tennis. There’s a desire to see many more challenges with the world&#8217s two strongest tennis players on the court. Fans hope that it will happen as early as Cincinnati.
