Inter, Giuseppe Marotta becomes a shareholder of the club

With a note published on its official channels on Saturday, Inter announced that Giuseppe Marotta, former president and CEO of the club, has acquired some shares in the Nerazzurri company. Marotta has been at Inter since 2018, joining first as managing director of the sports area, and then taking on the role of CEO in 2024.

“Giuseppe Marotta, who was appointed president of Inter by the shareholders’meeting on June 4, 2024, has now become a shareholder of the club with a stake close to 2 percent – reads the club&#8217s note.

After about a year since his appointment as president, both Marotta and the funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P. (“Oaktree”), intended to strengthen their partnership”.

“Marotta’s investment reflects his commitment to the club and full sharing with Oaktree about the long-term goals for the benefit of the club and its continued development” the Milan-based company further explains. “With this news, Inter faces the new season with a great unity of purpose among its different components, ownership, management, employees, members and fans“.

Born in 1957, Marotta was part of the management cadres of Varese, Monza, Como, Venice, Ravenna, Atalanta and Sampdoria, before a long experience at Juventus, between 2010 and 2018, as general manager and managing director of the sports area’s general manager. In his first seven seasons at Inter he won two Scudetti, as many Italian Cups and three Italian Super Cups, reaching the Champions League final twice.
