Men’s Italvolleyball, Ferdinando De Giorgi believes in world title

While in Thailand the women’s national team prepares for the ’eighth round of the World Cup, the intentions and ambitions of the men’s national volleyball team were clearly expressed by coach Ferdinando ‘Fefè’ De Giorgi protagonist today with the team of the event organized at the ’Hub of Dhl Express – which of the national team is main sponsor – at the Cargo City in Malpensa.

“The intensity and participation have been very high, apart from the incident of Daniele Lavia’s injury, just in the last exercise of the last training session. It was real bad luck”. On this front De Giorgi has no doubts: “The players who will replace him do not have to prove anything, they are already part of the group. Bottolo, Porro, Sani: they are already part of the group, they have experienced the VNL with us and are ready. There is no need to invent anything”.

The same determination is also clear in the words of captain Simone Giannelli: “We have a good competition in front of us, very, very difficult, but we also know that we want to do well and we can do well. So we start without setting ourselves any limits trying to take advantage of all the good things that can come our way”. Poland (“the’most fearsome opponent” according to the coach), France and Italy are all on the same side of the scoreboard: “It will be a good battle but for us the’opponent to beat will be from time to time the one we face”.
