FIFA has released a report according to which soccer clubs around the world spent a total of $9.76 billion, or 8.36 billion euros, to recruit players abroad.

This figure represents about 50 percent more than in the 2024 summer market window and well above the previous record of 2023 (7.43 billion euros).

The English league, where Liverpool particularly stands out, remains the undisputed leader in terms of purchases with 2.73 billion euros. Germany follows close behind with 980 million, ahead of Italy (813 million) and France (625 million), while Saudi Arabia dropped to sixth place after being second in the summer of 2023.

Although at infinitely lower figures, the women’s soccer market continues to grow, and by a lot, as is obvious given the difference in figures, with a jump of 80 percent over the same period in 2024, reaching $12.3 million.
