Ducati, Marco Bezzecchi reveals backstory on Casey Stoner
VR46 team rider Bezzecchi: “I hope Stoner saw something important in me.”
Marco Bezzecchi is gaining more and more confidence in his first MotoGp season. After an understandably complicated start to the World Championship riding the Ducati, the Romagna centaur has gradually gained more and more confidence, and with fifth place at Mugello and second at Assen he is now the best rookie overall.
Among Bezzecchi’s great admirers is a former luxury Ducatista like Casey Stoner, who said a few months ago that he “sees something special in him, he does something that others don’t do.”
Returning to that statement, Bezzecchi put it this way, “I met Casey last year, but I didn’t talk much with him. We just said ‘nice to meet you, how are you’ – the words of Valentino Rossi’s pupil reported by Crash.net -. But I saw the interview and for me it was a great pleasure to know that he judges me that way. Although I honestly don’t know what he saw in me, I hope he saw some good skills.”
