When Jannik Sinner plays at the Us Open: history with Carlos Alcaraz

The U.S. Open final will pit Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, the two best players in the world by a wide margin, against each other. A challenge as expected as it is inevitable, considering that in 2025 the two dominated the international tennis scene, especially at the Slam level.
After the chapters in Rome, Roland Garros and Wimbledon, and the summer advance in Cincinnati, always strictly in the finals, it will also be “Sincaraz” time in New York. A rivalry that is marking an era and that at Flushing Meadows will add one more stake: the ATP ranking throne.
The winner of the match, in fact, will secure not only the U.S. Open title, but also the world title. Sinner, current number one, aims to defend it to touch 65 consecutive weeks at the top, while Alcaraz dreams of the overtaking that would return him to the lead.
The match between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 7 on Arthur Ashe Stadium at 8 p.m. Italian time (2 p.m. local time).
The balance of direct comparisons has Alcaraz ahead 9-5. The Spaniard has won three of the four crossovers staged in 2025, including the Cincinnati final, although that match was affected by Sinner’s retirement after just five games.
Perfect balance, however, in the Slam finals (1-1), while in the ATP finals the lead is 4-2 Alcaraz. On cement, the queen surface of the US Open, the numbers smile even more on the Spaniard, who has won 6 out of 8 against the Italian.
