Just like at Imola, Max Verstappen was cheered on the podium at the Autodromo di Monza after his victory in the Italian Grand Prix. The four-time world champion dominated the race despite an inferior Red Bull to the two McLarens, and once again at the end of the Grand Prix the feeling of the Cavallino fans with the Dutch champion was confirmed.

“This is the first time I have heard so much cheering, the other two times I had won I had done it by beating the Ferraris and therefore I was not so cheered – explained Verstappen -. Definitely a great day for us. After what had happened at the start, when I had to give up the position to Lando Norris, I regained the lead and completed a very good first stint”.

“I came back into the pits at the right time to put on the hard ones, and in the final stint I was able to push as best I could. I would say fantastic execution by everyone. A flawless weekend and it is always a pleasure to win here”.
