Roma, Jose Mourinho excited about Nicolò Zaniolo
José Mourinho stresses the importance of Nicolo Zaniolo
José Mourinho, Roma coach, participated in the ordinary press conference preceding the next day’s match, which is valid for the third round of the group stage of the Europa League. His Roma will take the field against Spanish side Betis, who are coming off a league defeat. The Portuguese coach touched on various aspects, praising his players, most notably Nicolò Zaniolo.
Mourinho opened the press conference by expressing his feelings about the opponents, “The difficulty is to play against a team of quality, with a clear identity, a great coach and a philosophy of their own that you can see when they play.”
He added a comment about some of his players, “Good players can always play together. For so many phenomena talking on the radio, at the beginning it seemed impossible to play with Abraham, Dybala, Zaniolo and Pellegrini. Few times because of injuries we could do it, but when we do it, it works.”
Finally a thought on Zaniolo: “Many more goals in Europe? The opponents worry about Nicolò. His way of playing makes him individualistic at times, but he is not selfish, he does not think about himself. He never spares himself, he gives everything, defensively he is so much for us, he works so much. Normal that he doesn’t score 20 goals a season, but he is really important for us and I never get tired of saying that. Whether he scores less or more for me is not dramatic.”
