Virtus Bologna, Sergio Scariolo’s Spain will train at Segafredo Arena
Spain’s national team will use Black Vu facilities, ahead of November match against Italy
Virtus Segafredo and FEB executives met yesterday, Tuesday, Oct. 4, and agreed that the European champions of the Spanish national team will prepare in the virtussino club’s facilities for the 2023 World Championship qualifying match against Italy.
A delegation from FEB, led by its President Jorge Garbajosa, went to Bologna yesterday for a meeting with the management of Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna, represented by CEO Luca Baraldi and general manager Paolo Ronci. In an atmosphere of maximum cooperation, the two institutions agreed that the Spanish men’s national team will hold a retreat at Virtus facilities in preparation for the 2023 World Cup qualifier, which will pit Spain and Italy against each other in the November window.
The agreement reached by the FEB and Virtus Bologna will allow the Spanish team to have all the facilities of the team coached by Sergio Scariolo, who will thus be able to fulfill his responsibilities as head coach of both teams.
FEB would like to publicly thank Virtus Bologna for their sensitivity and availability, which will allow the national coach to coach the European champions in the game against Italy, despite the fact that the club team is scheduled to play in another competition at the same time.
Both entities thus continue the framework of cooperation they have developed in recent years and are confident that the outcome of this experience will be satisfactory for the interests of all involved.
