Champions League, nightmare night for AC Milan: Chelsea drops a hat trick
Champions League, Chelsea-Milan 3-0
Nightmarish night at Stamford Bridge for AC Milan: the Rossoneri collapsed in the presence of a Chelsea that seemed more on the ball from the start, able to close out the match with a clear 3-0 that is worth, in the Champions League Group E standings, the hooking of the Rossoneri right at second place in the standings.
The study phase between the two teams lasts relatively short: it takes Chelsea 24 minutes to find the way of the goal thanks to Wesley Fofana, quickest of all to take advantage of a knock and rebound in the area on the development of a corner. Fofana himself will be forced a few minutes later to leave the field through injury, replaced by Chalobah.
Milan’s reaction was anything but vehement and Chelsea took advantage, in the first minutes of the second half, to close the accounts: in the 56th minute it was an old Rossoneri acquaintance (as well as a market target on several occasions), Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who signed the double, also taking advantage of a defensive uncertainty of Tomori; in the 62nd minute it was instead Reece James who completed the work, overcoming Tatarusanu with an impregnable conclusion under the crossbar.
Little to report in the last half-hour, with Milan failing to find the flagship goal and being forced to return from London with their heads down.
