Remo Freuler, who was injured on Sunday during the derby played at Parma’s ‘Tardini’ between the Ducali and his Bologna side, will have to undergo surgery. This was announced by the Bologna club through a note.

“Remo Freuler sustained yesterday, in a fortuitous contrast, a decomposed fracture of the right clavicle,” it reads.

“He will undergo stabilization surgery in the coming days. The recovery time will be announced after the surgery.”

The Swiss midfielder, who turned 33 in April, arrived in Italy in 2016 to wear the Atalanta jersey and returned there in 2023, to play for Bologna, after a season in England at Nottingham Forest.

He has been on the roster of the Swiss senior national team since 2017 and in his homeland, before coming to Bergamo, he had played for Grasshoppers, Winterthur and Lucerne.
