Lorenzo Sonego takes derby with Flavio Cobolli and flies to the quarters

Lorenzo Sonego qualified for the quarterfinals of the Metz 250 tournament by imposing himself in a derby with Flavio Cobolli, the number 4 seed, 2-6 6-3 7-5 in 2 hours and 7 minutes.
The Turin native now awaits the winner of the match between Frenchman Hugo Gaston (98) and German Daniel Altmaier (46).
With this defeat Cobolli has gambled away his chance to end the year among the world’s top 20 players, remaining at No. 22.
Sonego, on the other hand, is already virtually number 42 and can aim to end the season among the top 40 in the world.
