Champions League: Barcelona locked in Bruges, Manchester City and Galatasaray smile

There was no shortage of surprises in the matches played Wednesday night in the Champions League. One of the least expected results was Barcelona’s draw at home to Club Bruges, a 3-3 draw that could have even been 4-3 for the Belgians, if the goal scored at 91′ by Vermant had not been annulled by referee Taylor for a foul in the course of the action.

Decidedly less tiring was the evening for Manchester City, which beat Borussia Dortmund 4-1 with a double from Foden and goals from Haaland and Cherki. Great victory also for Galatasaray, which with a hat-trick by Osimhen beats Ajax at home, Newcastle also smiles as it beats Athletic Bilbao 2-0 at home with goals by Burn and Joelinton. Important for the standings was Bayer Leverkusen&#8217s success on the field of Benfica with Schick&#8217s goal-win.
