To date, Max Verstappen’s weekend at Interlagos is one to forget and could even prove decisive in the fight for the World Championship. With Lando Norris increasingly on form, the’Dutchman cannot afford any more missteps not to say goodbye to the big dream of taking home what would be the fifth title of his F1 career.

Complicated by a decidedly negative qualifying session, Max Verstappen will start 16th on the grid for the Brazilian GP. The Dutchman highlighted his Red Bull’s problems clearly: “I don’t know what to say. We had no grip, nothing worked and not a single corner was going well. I would say it was extremely difficult”, his words to Sky.

At this point, a real miracle will be needed in the race, just like last year. It should be remembered that, in the 2024 edition, Max Verstappen won at Interlagos starting from 17th position. On that occasion, decisive were the weather conditions (rain) and a perfect strategy.

In short, Max Verstappen knows that as soon as the lights go out at the start, he will have to do everything to make up positions and try to fight for victory, hoping that Lando Norris will have to deal with some adversity, an eventuality that does not seem so likely.
