Jannik Sinner also outclasses on TV: it’s the most-watched tennis match ever

Tennis ratings boom at the ATP Finals in Turin: the final between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz was watched by more than 7 million viewers, an all-time record in Italy for a tennis match.

The final was broadcast on Sky (streaming on NOW) and free-to-air on Rai2, setting new records: the match achieved a 36.6% share, more than 7 million viewers, and surpassed that of 2023 between Sinner Novak Djokovic.

In detail, Rai2 recorded 5.5 million viewers, with 29 percent share, while Sky went over 1.5 million viewers, with 7.6 percent share. The data, compiled by Studio Frasi, are in total audience.

Tennis also won the long-distance comparison with soccer: Gattuso’s Italy match was watched by 7.5 million viewers for 34 percent share in prime time, compared with 36.6 percent for Sinner&#8217s match.
