Federica Brignone’s participation in the Olympics becomes a mystery

Federica Brignone’s participation in the Milan Cortina Olympics to be held from February 6 to 22 next year becomes a yellow. At lunchtime on Monday the Italian Winter Sports Federation made some clarifications through an informal note.
“Regarding some news that appeared in recent hours in newspapers, televisions and Internet sites about the green light received by Federica Brignone in recent days by the Medical Commission about the resumption of ski training, FISI reiterates that there has been no visit and at the moment no date has yet been set in this regard” it reads.
In the last few days rumors had circulated about an okay from doctors to train, never officially confirmed. Federica Brignone in the’last interview with the Quotidiano Sportivo was very evasive: “For me after the injury the biggest thought was not: oh my God I am not doing the Olympics, but rather the fear of no longer having a normal life”.
“Unfortunately, what happened to me is so serious that it is difficult to understand it. The fracture is complex and I have never been given a clear recovery time, indeed, every day I stop, even if only for institutional or press-related commitments, is time I take away from work to get back on track. What I can say, however, is that I am ahead of what we had hoped for with the experts at J Medical, but the schedule is definitely short term”.
“We have been working from 15 days to 15 days. First we scheduled ourselves for the walk, now it is starting a phase not only of physical therapy, but I am also putting the first loads, to prepare myself physically and to rebuild myself muscularly. Right now I could get back on skis to slide but right now I’m not ready to make giant turns. We have to respect what my body says, modeling recovery on me, I still don”t know what I will do in early December”.
