Jorge Lorenzo is Maverick Viñales’ new performance coach

Now it is official: Jorge Lorenzo is the new performance coach of Maverick Viñales. The’announcement was made by the two Spanish centaurs in a post on Instagram in which it was also clarified what they will do.

Three key points: “Physical and athletic preparation, with a focus on routines, training and recovery tailored to the current demands of MotoGP. Strategic coaching, aimed at pressure and risk management, race consistency and decision making at critical moments. Sports-technical development, strengthening the analysis and planning of the race weekend”.

“The collaboration,” we read further, “willbe supported by a team coordinated by Lorenzo and fully aligned with the project of Viñales, with the common goal of achieving solid and sustainable progress in the medium and long term”.

“Having Jorge with us on this journey is a great opportunity to learn and improve in every aspect – commented Viñales – His experience and outside perspective will help us move forward with confidence. I begin this new phase with great motivation and enthusiasm.”
