Davis Cup: compliments to'Italy by Jannik Sinner (who predicted everything)

Italy won its third consecutive Davis Cup and fourth overall, thanks to the feats of Matteo Berrettini and Flavio Cobolli against Spain. Azzurri still and increasingly on the roof of world tennis, despite the absences of Lorenzo Musetti and especially Jannik Sinner. The latter, by the way, immediately wished to congratulate his colleagues and compatriots. Towards whom, moreover, he had already shown full and complete trust before the great feat.
“Congratulations on this incredible victory”, Sinner wrote in a post on the Instagram Stories of his official profile. The caption is accompanied by emoji of a tricolor flag, a blue heart and a trophy clearly representing the Davis Cup. This is accompanied by an’image with the words “C4World Champions 1976 – 2023 – 2024 – 2025” and showing the protagonists of Italy in this edition of the event, plus captain Filippo Volandri in the center.
Sinner, who did not take part in this Davis Cup unlike the 2023 and 2024 ones, had already said he was confident that Italy could amply have its say in winning this year’s event as well. “The thing I personally don’t like is that we have an incredible team, even without me. But nobody talks about that. Why do we have to give up a tennis player like Darderi, who is number 26 in the world right now, and we can afford not to call him up. Because there are Cobolli, Musetti, so many others” he had said in an’interview with ‘Sky Sport’ in early November.
“We have so many champions, we have an incredible doubles team. We have Berrettini, we can easily win the Davis Cup even so. In fact, the possibility of winning is high” had been Sinner’s premonition. Which, meanwhile, the Roman and later Cobolli have turned into the sweetest reality for tennis fans scattered across the Boot.
