Paola Egonu and teammates ready for a new European challenge

After reaching the final in 2024 and winning the third place in 2025, Numia Vero Volley Milano starts again from the home court of the Opiquad Arena in Monza its adventure in the women’s Champions League: opponents, in the first day of Group C, the girls of Olympiacos, last year’s winners of the Greek championship and the national cup.
An’other European challenge for Paola Egonu, captain of the team led by Stefano Lavarini, and her teammates: in particular, for the Vero Volleyball and national team champion, the challenge begins to get to the fourth Champions in her career, after those won in 2019 by AGIL Volleyball, in 2021 with Conegliano and in 2023 with Vakifbank.
Lavarini, for his part, spurred his players on the eve of the European debut: “We are ready for the debut in Champions and we can’t wait to start this adventure. Olympiacos has players with international experience and made it to the group stage easily. It will be crucial for us to put great focus and aggressiveness on the court to start our journey in the best way possible with the’help of our warm audience”.
Vero Volleyball arrives at the Champions commitment back from the external victory, three sets to zero, against San Giovanni in Marignano: a match in which, in addition to Egonu’s 18 points, came Khalia Lanier’s 19 and Anna Danesi and Rebecca Piva’s 8. In the league, Lavarini’s team is third in the standings with 26 points, 11 less than leading Conegliano.
