Jannik Sinner is not the only one to be criticized for his Davis Cup forfeit. Carlos Alcaraz, who withdrew at the last minute from the finals in Bologna, also ended up in the crosshairs of Jimmy Connors, who during his podcast pointed out a detail related to the Spaniard&#8217s schedule.

“He skipped Davis, but next month he will play two exhibitions. It is common knowledge that this is the time to make money, as if he hasn&#8217t already earned enough during the season… I wonder if he will make it to the Australian Open without adequate preparation because of these matches” said the’former world No. 1.

“The main difference is that in a tournament you have to stay focused, and it&#8217s really physically and mentally demanding for a week and a half, whereas an’exhibition lasts only one day. You stay focused, you warm up, you train very little, for just one match”.
