While fans and industry insiders remain waiting for the FIA’s decisions regarding Red Bull’s budget cap overrun, the Austrian brand’s motorsports consultant Helmut Marko decided to respond to all kinds of speculation in rather sharp words during an interview with ‘F1 Insider.

“I don’t want to say too much, just this: we still believe that we haven’t broken the budget cap rule at all,” the former driver quipped. “The discussions with the FIA are still ongoing. Let’s see what will come out in the end.”

“The discussions with the FIA are still ongoing,” Marko added. “But the rumors that Max could lose the world title in 2021, for example, are completely absurd. The past has shown that even serious violations of regulations have been punished mildly.”
