Naples market, five are leaving in January

Inevitably in January, Napoli will have to give up several players to finance the incoming market.

Antonio Conte in recent weeks has expressed (not too veiledly) the need to shore up the squad in order to continue to battle in the league and to hope to pass the round in the Champions League. Aurelio De Laurentiis will do everything to try to please the Lecce coach and sporting director Manna is already working on the disposals front: there will be a mini-revolution in the team.

In all likelihood, Pasquale Mazzocchi will change air and look for a new accommodation: so far he has totaled just 113 minutes between all competitions and is in demand by several Serie A and Serie B clubs. Antonio Vergara, requested by Cagliari and Lecce, will also say goodbye to Naples: the youngster expected to play more but Conte has given him very little space to show his qualities. On the tracks of Giuseppe Ambrosino are especially Cremonese and Cesena, Luca Marianucci is instead on the radar of Torino.

Also with suitcases in hand is Lorenzo Lucca, who so far has not convinced either in terms of performance or attitude. Antonio Conte is not satisfied with the center forward and there are several clubs on his trail: it is possible that the partenopei will anticipate the redemption from Udinese (although they will ask for more favorable conditions than those agreed in the summer with the Friulian club) and then turn him over on loan until the end of the season. Watch out for West Ham, which has sold Niclas Füllkrug to AC Milan.

According to English sources, in recent days Romelu Lukaku’s entourage has been contacted by some Arab clubs but the powerful Belgian center forward has decided to stay in Naples at least until the end of the season, then we will see. Already last summer Lukaku was approached by the very rich Saudi Pro League but, despite the prospect of earning an avalanche of money, he chose to continue his experience in Campania.

In the summer, however, the divorce between Napoli and Romelu Lukaku is very likely: Aurelio De Laurentiis does not want to keep him in the squad given the very high salary and in recent seasons Romelu Lukaku has had several physical problems. The Belgian’s mighty physical structure penalizes him a lot in these situations since the recovery time is significantly prolonged.
