Marco Schwarz repeats himself by closing 2025 in beauty: after winning the giant in Alta Badia on the Gran Risa, he also conquered the SuperG on the Li Zeta, a test that made its World Cup debut in Livigno (Sondrio). The 30-year-old Austrian’s lightness and gradualness were again key in climbing the rankings and adapting to the unprecedented Valtellina course in the best possible way: 1’10″33 was the chronometric tally that allowed him to keep behind the Swiss army.

Alexis Monney (+0″20), Franjo Von Allmen (+0″25) and a Marco Odermatt (+0″29) at the foot of the podium finished behind Schwarz, followed in turn by Dominik Paris, fifth with 31 hundredths of a second delay ex aequo with German Simon Jocher, and Guglielmo Bosca, eighth at 0″44 arm in arm with the other Swiss Stefan Rogentin. Positive tests for both Azzurri, with Paris also finding a good feeling in the fast changes of direction in the second part of the track, with Bosca losing contact with the podium on the bumps in the second part of the track.

“I am quite satisfied – said Domik Paris at the end of the race -, we are still a little short of the podium (which he had also come close to in the Beaver Creek SuperG, where he finished fourth, ed). It was not easy to find the right balance with the snow today, there was a risk of pushing too much or too little. I had imagined it to be a race suitable for the giant racers and Schwarz up front there confirms that. For 2026 I want to continue to have fun and maintain this skiing, trying to figure out more and more how to beat the Swiss”.

“I am happy, I did a great race for my condition – the words of Gugliemo Bosca – Unfortunately a knee inflammation limits me in training, it is a difficult period but to see that despite this I am sixth and close to the best gives me a lot of confidence. I missed the line at the top, going too direct, and I could have interpreted the bumps better but overall I am happy”.

Odermatt adds another fifty points to his haul and climbs to 855 in the overall standings, with a 404-length margin over Schwarz (451), tailed by Meillard (380), Paris is 12th with 265 points. The Swiss also retains the red bib as specialty leader with 275 points, stretching over Austrians Kriechmayr (209) and Haaser (146), both of whom went out; eighth and tenth places for Paris (125) and Franzoni (118).
