Juventus rears its head again in derby with Torino: Dusan Vlahovic’s goal decides
Allegri’s men just need a goal from Vlahovic.
Juventus reared its head again right in the derby against city rivals Torino. The Bianconeri team needed only a goal by Dusan Vlahovic with a quarter of an hour left before the final whistle.
A balanced first half that livened up toward the end of the fraction with Allegri’s men trying, mostly from outside with Locatelli and Rabiot, calling for three close calls on Granata goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, but the result did not break through and the two teams returned to the locker room with the score at 0-0.
The second half seemed to follow the script of the first, with Torino trying to play the game but failing to take charge. Juventus upped the tempo and in the 74th exalted the reflexes of the Serbian extreme defender, who deflected into a corner a header by Vlahovic, who pounced on the ball coming from the corner flag and, after Danilo’s pass, put the Bianconeri ahead.
Juric’s men looked for an equalizing goal, also inserting former Inter player Yann Karamoh, but the result did not move from 0-1 and Allegri could rejoice in their return to victory after two consecutive defeats, between Serie A and the Champions League, against AC Milan and Maccabi Haifa.
