Como market, Martin Baturina is the new temptation of top clubs

In Como’s victorious Coppa Italia match against Fiorentina, Martin Baturina was able to observe his teammates from the bench: a rest that the coach of the Larians, Cesc Fabregas, gave him after a resounding month of January, in which the Croatian scored three times, also distributing three assists, in the last four games. It is no coincidence, therefore, that Lega Serie A awarded him the Rising Star of the Month award, reserved for the league’s Under-23s, for his performances in the first month of 2026.
Inevitably, Baturina’s name has begun to circulate insistently in circles related to the soccer market, in Italy and Europe, so much so that in recent days some behind-the-scenes stories have emerged about Inter’s interest in last summer, which then failed to materialize because the Nerazzurri preferred to turn to other profiles. Even the wealthy Premier League had begun sounding out the ground but Como, which invested more than 25 million euros to bring Baturina from Dinamo Zagreb to the Lario shore, always sent the offers back.
The interest of top clubs, looking further back, starts as early as the fall of 2024, when Baturina scored two goals in the Champions League, netting against Monaco and AC Milan: the interest of top clubs such as PSG and Atletico Madrid was immediate then, but they did not sink the blow. Now, with the Croatian talent’s explosion in Serie A, it certainly cannot be ruled out that Europe’s bigwigs will not return to knock on the doors of the young player’s agents, although the talk is more likely to be addressed in the summer and not at this winter market close.
Having grown up in Dinamo Zagreb, with which he made his debut in 2021 and showing himself as one of the club’s brightest talents, Baturina has collected 165 appearances, 22 goals and numerous trophies with the Croatian club, distinguishing himself for continuity and quality, even to the point of scoring in Europe’s top competition.
In 2025 he moved to Como, becoming one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history.
He gradually carved out his space in Serie A, scoring his first goal against Torino in the 5-1 away win last November 24. A Croatian national, he has scored one goal in 15 appearances with the checkered red and white selection, carving out an important role for himself on the path to the 2026 World Cup.
