Breezy Johnson in the lead, Lindsey Vonn drama, Sofia Goggia dreams of bronze

She also did better than Nicol Delago but not Laura Pirovano, who after coming down was second behind Johnson but then in turn slipped out of the top three. After the top fifteen in third place is Sofia Goggia.

Drama for Lindsey Vonn, who fell after a few meters of the Olympic downhill. The champion decomposed and went into a spin. Her screams of pain went around the world, making the scene even more poignant. The descent was stopped for rescue and resumed after about 20 minutes.

It was Sofia Goggia’s Olympics in Pyeongchang 2018. Her downhill was aggressive, clean, without hesitation: very well-deserved gold. The silver went to Ragnhild Mowinckel, the bronze to Lindsey Vonn.

A unique edition in Sochi in 2014: the gold ex aequo went to Tina Maze and Dominique Gisin, with the exact same time. Bronze went to Lara Gut, then at the beginning of a long career at the top and not yet married to Valon Behrami.

In Vancouver 2010, Lindsey Vonn dominated, winning gold and confirming herself as the queen of speed. Silver took Julia Mancuso, bronze Elisabeth Goergl.

On the home snows for Italy, the gold from the 2006 Turin edition went to Michaela Dorfmeister. Martina Schild was silver, while Anja Pärson took the third step of the podium.
