American federation president Johan Eliasch did not hide his bitterness: “It is a tragic thing but it is skiing unfortunately. We know what she gave for our sport and she wanted to be there for such an important race for us. I wish her a speedy recovery and to be back on skis soon”. Race winner Breezy Johnson also encouraged her compatriot: “My heart is with Lindsey, I know how hard it is to ski on this slope and when you fall and suffer, the pain is even stronger”.
