Olimpia Milano: two important returns for away trip to Treviso field

Today (2:30 p.m. ball), the monday night of the 19th day is staged. At the Pala Verde in Villorba, hosts Basket Treviso host Olimpia Milano’Olimpia Milano. The red-and-whites, refreshed by their three consecutive victories in the Euroleague, against Partizan, Baskonia and ASVEL respectively, aim to redeem themselves in the league, where they are coming off a home game lost to Leonessa Brescia. Coach Poeta still has several important absences but two valuable elements return.
Still without Bolmaro, Nebo and Sestina, EA7 will finally be able to include Tonut and Diop in the rotation. Two very valuable elements for the team that can give important minutes and quantity. The return of Diop, in particular, is pure oxygen for coach Poeta who, in recent outings, has had to squeeze Booker to the maximum and ask for overtime from veteran Dunston. Tonut, a sublime defender, will also come in very handy for the red-and-whites.
The important thing is not to underestimate Treviso: “This is a different team than the one we met in Milan with a new coach, Marcelo Nicola, the addition of a couple of quality players like Radosevic and Cappelletti, the availability of Weber who was out in the first leg. While missing some important elements such as Macura and Olisevicius, Treviso is a dangerous team because of their high offensive potential, the field factor and the amount of time they have had to prepare. We will have to be focused and ready to provide maximum effort to win the game,” the words of Kovacic, Poeta’s assistant.
Treviso, last in the standings, has profoundly changed its roster in recent days. Ragland and Stephens are no longer part of the project. The club has decided to bet on Radosevic (seen in Milan for two seasons, from 2011 to 2013), Macura and Cappelletti.
Considering also the challenges when Treviso was Benetton, the record between the two teams is 85 with 50 wins for Olimpia against 35 losses. Since Treviso’s return to Serie A, the tally is, however, 13-1 for Milan, 12-1 in the league including the 86-63 first leg game in which Brooks put up 22 points.
