F1, Nico Rosberg on the budget cap case: ‘The FIA has only to lose’
The former Mercedes driver is back on the budget cap case
2016 Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg has returned to the budget cap case and the FIA’s difficult position.
The German spoke on the ‘Any driven Monday’ program on Sky Sports UK, giving his opinion on this thorny issue: “I think it is difficult to judge from the outside, something that has to be taken into consideration a little bit. I think it is better to wait and be patient.”
“The FIA has only to lose, because if they really took away the points for last year’s championship, in the worst case even the points from Max, it would be really bad for everybody. But if they had seriously violated the cost ceiling by a couple of million or whatever and got a performance advantage, even a penalty that wasn’t severe would be just as hard to swallow. I hope the FIA can find the right solution, but the line is really thin,” Nico Rosberg continued.
