Juventus expels Via del Mare: Nicolò Fagioli is decisive against Lecce
First major league goal for Nicolo Fagioli
Juventus, after being eliminated from the Champions League, responded by managing to win their third straight clean sheet in a row in the league. The Bianconeri won 0-1 over Marco Baroni’s Lecce.
At the Via del Mare, the game was locked in the first half. The biggest danger for the hosts was created by Rabiot, with a header at the end of the fraction.
Juventus tried to take control of the game in the second half, but failed to unlock the result, despite chances on the feet of Miretti and Milik. In the 73rd, however, Massimiliano Allegri’s men went through thanks to the first career Serie A goal of 2001-born midfielder Nicolò Fagioli, who took over from McKennie at halftime.
Lecce did not stand idly by and came very close to equalizing, hitting the post in the 89th with a venomous low shot from Hjulmand. Juventus trembled and, despite the difficulties of the finale, scored a victory that allows them to hook, momentarily, Roma on 22 points.
