Andrea Dovizioso vents: ‘Disappointed in myself’
Andrea Dovizioso comments on his negative experience at Yamaha
Almost a year ago, Andrea Dovizioso began his adventure in Yamaha, alongside Valentino Rossi. Things did not go as he expected: the three-time vice world champion in sixteen races never managed to get into the top ten, his best result was an eleventh place, achieved in Portimao.
“I am more disappointed in myself than in Yamaha. I can’t exploit the potential of the bike, although I understand well why, in all areas. Even after so many races I can’t change things, I’m also disappointed that I can’t develop the bike. I can’t accelerate, I can be very fast in the corners but in my head I have a microchip that tells me that the corner has to be approached differently, so I can’t handle it and I have no rhythm.”
On Quartararo: “I needed a clear agenda to know what the objectives are. I tried to explain why Fabio is where he is and I tried to make them understand that Fabio could benefit if we can improve some areas of the bike. He was happy with the meetings, but unfortunately nothing has changed.”
