F1, Jacques Villeneuve lashes out at fans
After crashing in qualifying, he then finished third in the race
In qualifying for the Austrian GP Lewis Hamilton went to the wall in his Mercedes. It was an accident that caused him to start in the middle of the pack in the Sprint, but then in the race he recovered to third place.
However, Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 world champion, did not like the attitude of the Austrian fans toward the seven-time world champion: “The crowd’s jubilation at Hamilton’s accident was embarrassing,” explained the Canadian in his column on formule1.nl. “No one knew what his condition was and they celebrated.
“Lewis is not even fighting Max this year, it was really embarrassing. You should never stand up and cheer after an accident,” Villeneuve added. I don’t understand this misconduct. Whatever you think inside, keep it to yourself.”
