Alberto Bettiol wants to be Italy’s captain at the World Cup
The words of Alberto Bettiol
Less than a month to go before the World Cycling Championships, scheduled for Sept. 18-25 in Australia.
Alberto Bettiol could be Italy’s captain and he feels ready for such a responsibility, as he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
“For the World Championships this is the best possible approach, I am ready to be the leader of this national team. We have a good group, I know I lack some explosiveness, some rhythm, but that’s why I chose to test myself with the Tour of Germany. C.T. Bennati is still deciding the last names, he discussed with me and Matteo Trentin; we have the goal of always being in numerical superiority, never chasing: Italy can only try to win the World Cup.”
