Filippo Celli, rising golf star, as seen by Alberto Binaghi
Celli, the rising star
Alberto Binaghi, technical commissioner of the National Amateur Golf Team, spoke with Il Messaggero about rising star Filippo Celli, a 22-year-old from Rome.
“He combines two decisive characteristics: he is powerful and has very good hands, so he shoots very long and plays very well around the green. After winning the Amateur world title, the first in history for Italy, and expressing himself the most as an amateur, it was almost automatic to go pro without staying another two years in college. The boy is ready and I am convinced that on the European Tour he will find the stimuli to express himself at his best and take a lot of satisfaction.”
