Fiorentina, for Vincenzo Italiano it’s a matter of pride
Vincenzo Italiano presented the Conference League match that will see Fiorentina take on Scotland’s Hearts.
Vincenzo Italiano, coach of Fiorentina, participated in the usual press conference preceding the match valid for the fourth round of the Conference League group stage and touched on various aspects, starting with the defeat against Lazio that occurred on the last day of Serie A.
At first the former Spezia man said, “We have to try to react for the umpteenth time to a bad result, by necessity we will go on the pitch to confirm those positive aspects we showed in Bergamo, in the first leg and with Lazio, result aside. There are never easy games in Europe, we need to do as we did in the first leg. If we approach it that way, we can have satisfaction. I agree with the coaches who say that these competitions give you more, they make you grow as awareness, they make you better.”
“Good job we won in the first leg, now let’s react again. In the league we are a little behind but nothing is lost. I remember when last year we lost 4-0 in Turin and then in the two games after that we went on to win in Naples in the Cup and 6-0 with Genoa. The team has strength and ability to turn those moods around. I expect this pride from the boys,” he added.
Finally, a thought on the scoring difficulties in this first part of the season: “The problem of scoring prevents us from having a few more points, but in these first games our main difficulty is under the goal, where we win games and direct competitions. So many fates are decided there. The lack is ours, of quality or accuracy or ability I don’t know, but we need to improve.”
