Milan, Ivan Gazidis unveils goals for the current season
Clear words from the Rossoneri ad.
On the sidelines of the Gazzetta Sport Awards event, Ivan Gazidis addressed the goals for the current season, starting with the Scudetto encore: “We must have this ambition: we are Milan. We always want to grow, improve every day and win again; for our fans it was a great joy. We have to have this ambition.”
Clear on the goal in the Champions League: “To qualify for the round of 16: it is necessary to win both games and that is our goal.” A quip also about Stefano Pioli: “He is a special person. He has the values of the club. He is a coach with clear ideas, he is committed to developing young people. Stefano is fundamental for this Milan and for our growth.”
In the last two years the Scudetto has been won by Milanese teams, first Inter and then AC Milan. Previously, for nine seasons in a row, it had gone to Juventus, which was able to win it with first Antonio Conte on the bench (three successes for the Salento native), then Massimiliano Allegri (five) and then Maurizio Sarri, who, however, was later replaced by Andrea Pirlo. At the beginning of the millennium, the last two Scudetti went to teams with non-vertical striped jerseys: Lazio won it in 2000, Roma in 2001.
