MotoGp Ducati: Enea Bastianini lapidary on team orders
“The slate and the duel with Bagnaia? It’s all normal.”
Ducati centaur Enea Bastianini immediately downplayed the case of the blackboard and denied alleged team orders: “I tried to do my race, but it was obvious that I had to watch out for Pecco. On the last lap I tried to pass him, but I saw it was risky. I still did the best I could. Po I saw that his name was written on the board to warn me that he was behind me, but that’s normal. Ducati is playing for a title and you have to understand certain situations. We were in front, but something didn’t work.”
The Rimini rider explained his difficulties, “I then saw that something was wrong: at the exit of the hairpins I lacked traction, Pecco in fact got close again and passed me, so in the last laps I tried to stick to him as much as possible. However, I didn’t have traction and I couldn’t push harder, but it’s a good podium. The temperature was different from yesterday, aided by the change in the weather.”
